The annual ECPR Summer School in Methods and Techniques (SSMT) provides cutting-edge courses in the full span of qualitative and quantitative topics. A diverse range of experienced Instructors supported by dedicated Teaching Assistants instruct participants alongside a plenary programme designed to support academics at the start of their career.
The SSMT offers intermediate-level training for advanced students and junior researchers and is currently held in the beautiful city of Ljubljana. The full course list is available via the Quick Links panel to the right. Since the course content is designed to complement the Winter School in Methods and Techniques, participants who are likely to have completed an introductory level course at the 2014 Winter School in Vienna may wish to consider extending their studies to an intermediate course in Ljubljana. Not only will they benefit from a continuation in the expert teaching they received in Vienna, but will also receive a course loyalty discount in Ljubljana. Please see the Course Fees link for more information.
The main courses consist of either five or ten teaching days (1-week or 2-week courses) and three hours’ teaching is scheduled for each day. Participants also receive 3-4 hours’ additional reading and supplementary practical work each day. Refresher courses of three six-hour teaching days are also offered prior to the main courses.
